In an era where partnerships move faster than products and ecosystem strategy defines market leaders, we’re thrilled to welcome a true ecosystem powerhouse to CxO4.
Janine Grasso joins CxO4 as a Subject Matter Expert for Ecosystem-as-a-Service, bringing more than two decades of experience building high-impact ecosystems, strategic partnerships, and go-to-market models. She has held executive roles at global technology leaders — serving as Vice President at IBM, Vice President of Business Development at Verizon, and Group Vice President at DocuSign. Throughout her career, Janine has worked across emerging tech and enterprise solutions, leading growth and transformation efforts that have helped both startups and Fortune 500 companies scale.
Her work has not just spanned industries — it has shaped them. At IBM, she played a key role in building one of the company’s most innovative ecosystem initiatives. At Verizon and DocuSign, she helped drive partner strategies that fueled expansion into new markets, modernized business models, and accelerated adoption of digital solutions.
We are thrilled to have Janine since ecosystems matter more than ever!
🚀 Why ecosystems are now the growth strategy
Janine’s conviction is clear: the future of business isn’t built alone — it’s built through partnerships. As she puts it:
“All of the data shows that companies that embrace ecosystems — and depend on them more than direct involvement — grow faster”.
Having led strategy and execution for some of the most advanced partner networks in tech, Janine has seen firsthand how successful companies (ie. Microsoft, SalesForce, Adobe) drive approximately 90% of their revenue through partners.
We all know how complex that journey is — especially for scaling companies.
“It’s not just about signing a commercial agreement. It actually starts from understanding what problem you are solving for the customer, and creating a joint solution where both partners bring and create value. That’s the hardest part of building an ecosystem.”
💡 The biggest missed opportunity in tech partnerships today
For Janine, many companies treat ecosystems as a “channel” — when they should be treating them as an integrated part of their product strategy.
“Again, it’s not just about papering a deal. It’s about co-creating an actual product or solution and aligning on everything from marketing to customer support — all things that you need in any business.”
Whether it’s working with global system integrators (GSIs), ISVs, or building joint go-to-market plays, Janine brings deep operational expertise on how to turn relationships into scalable revenue.
🤖 What role does AI play in ecosystem building?
AI is dominating the business conversation, but Janine brings a grounded view to the topic:
“AI is ultimately about accessing data faster and solving problems more efficiently. But it doesn’t replace the need for people who understand how to build and manage partnerships. You still need people leading those joint efforts. So, it’s really about how we take advantage of the technology and then run that same play.”
In other words, the tools are changing. The fundamentals of business development and the value of experienced leaders aren’t.
🌍 Why she chose CxO4 — and why it matters

“I love helping small to midsize companies accelerate growth. When I saw what @Carola and the team were building I got really excited. I’m passionate about advising companies, and being able to work closely with leadership teams to do so, I think it’s a great opportunity.”
